Travel service OneTwoTrip analyzed the ratings of passengers that they left after flights in economy class with regular flights of Russian airlines and determined the best carriers for the quality of in-flight meals. In total, the study took into account the opinions of more than 15 thousand passengers who have flown since the beginning of 2018. Each of them was asked to rate their meals on board on a scale from 1 to 5.
The first place in the rating was taken by Aeroflot airline – passengers rated its food on average at 4.4 points. It should be noted that flights of carriers “Russia” and “Aurora”, operated under the SU code, are also taken into account here. The second place was taken by S7 Airlines – 4.1 points, the third – by Red Wings (4 points exactly).
It is noteworthy that, in general, passengers were not satisfied with the onboard meals of Russian airlines. The average rating for all respondents was 3.5 points, 25% of respondents rated the food offered during the flight at only one point (it is important that low-cost passengers were not asked this question). The ratings of the leaders of the rating are on a par with the leading foreign carriers (Air France, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, etc.).
“In recent years, Russian airlines have significantly reduced the cost of in-flight meals, which has become one of the factors in increasing the availability of flights. However, passengers are still passionate about food. Judging by the scatter of ratings between airlines, some of them manage to leave a pleasant experience even without hot meals. Grain coffee or instant coffee, cream or milk powder, mayonnaise or dressing in a sandwich, faceless plastic packaging or branded container – all this affects how the passenger perceives the offered meal, ”commented Leonid Ryaboshtan, head of the OneTwoTrip air service.
